Evie Loadjaja is the Program Account Specialist in the EOPS/CARE & CalWORKs departments for 13 years.
Evie’s educational and career journey began at Citrus Community College. Evie’s main challenges as a first-generation international college student from Indonesia were a lack of educational guidance and overcoming cultural and language barriers. Her struggles during her first 2 years at college were compounded when many Southeast Asian countries, including Indonesia, experienced civil unrest that lead to severe economic hardship. The troubles at home lead Evie to seek asylum in the USA.
Evie was able to focus on her education and study diligently thanks to her refugee status and later earned her citizenship while transferring and completing her education at California State University, Fullerton (CSUF) where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
In overcoming her challenges, Evie experienced firsthand how one can achieve their American Dream through education and today she preaches the value of education and how it transforms and improves lives.
Evie's word of advice for everyone is "work diligently and hard in silence and let your success make the noise as God ensures our success in accordance with His plan, not ours."
