Andrea Diem is a Professor of Philosophy and currently the Chair of the Dept. She received her Ph.D and M.A. from UCSB and her B.A. in Psychology from UCSD. Dr. Diem is the author of over 10 books, including The Cerebral Mirage, How to Study the Sacred, The Jain Path, The Gnostic Mystery, Spooky Physics, etc. Some of this material was presented at international conferences held in Agra, India, where she was a plenary speaker. Her latest publication is an annotated bibliography for Oxford University Press. On a more personal note, she is married to Professor David Lane with whom she has 2 boys, Shaun and Kelly. Besides being a strict vegetarian for nearly 40 years, Dr. Diem has been an avid surfer for over 35 years and regularly surfs in Huntington Beach and Newport Beach. In the last several years she has also taken up yoga and loves it!
