A student earning this degree will be able to define sustainability applying criteria from the natural sciences as well as the social sciences.
Outcome 2: Application
Students earning this degree will be able to apply principles of sustainability to qualitative or quantitative research projects.
Outcome 3: Scientific Analysis
Students earning this degree will demonstrate understanding of scientific inquiry and quantitative reasoning.
Outcome 4: Social and Historical Evaluation
Upon successful completion of this degree students will be able to understand the meaning of the term “environmental justice” as well as the social and historical influences on ecological problems and sustainability.
Outcome 5: Ethics
Upon successful completion of this degree students will be able to understand the debate over animal rights and debates regarding preservation of wilderness and a habitable planet from the standpoint if ethics and philosophies of nature.
