Field Trip Instructions
WHEN YOU ARRIVE
Please meet your presenter in the main lobby of the Mt. SAC-Randall Planetarium 10 minutes before show time. They will check you in and ask you for the number of students and adults in your group. They will also ask you for your Hold Harmless Agreement form (included below) and preferred form of payment.
ROCKETS
During the rockets activity you can expect to spend 30-40 minutes being active outdoors. Please come prepared with jackets, hats, water bottles and sunscreen as needed for the current weather conditions.
LUNCH
Near the planetarium there are grassy areas with limited shade where you’re welcome to have your lunch. We will keep the planetarium lobby open for you so you can use the drinking fountains and restrooms. Additionally, there is a courtyard south of the Student Center (Building 410, about a 5 min walk from the planetarium) with tables and chairs seating. This is a public area open to Mt. SAC students, staff and campus guests with generally enough seating for about 50 people. If you need more space, Sherman Park (Area 41A) is always available for students and the community to enjoy. This space has large grassy spaces, a large shade trees, restrooms and a drinking fountain as well as a couple of picnic tables. Please note that Sherman Park is a 10-15 min uphill climb from the planetarium.

Please share the included directions with them. We are a large campus, and it is very easy to get lots.
IMPORTANT:
The planetarium is not at the telescope observatory. If you see a large steel dome on top of building #60, THAT IS NOT THE PLANETARIUM. The planetarium was built long before the telescope observatory on the northeast side of campus in building #26C. Please read the attached turn-by-turn instructions carefully to find the planetarium.
