Ron Hartman Planetarium Director 1968-2010

Ron Hartman served as the director of the Mt. SAC-Randall planetarium for over 30 years. The planetarium is what it is today because of his hard work and dedication.

Original Planetarium Controls

The classic Spitz planetarium projector and was completely controlled by buttons and dials, many of which had to be operated in the dark.

Classes began meeting in the planetarium on a limited basis in Fall of 1967. The planetarium opened to the community in Spring of 1968.

The planetarium broke down in 2002 mid-show.

Funds were raised by campus and the community to save the planetarium. Renovations were completed in late 2010.
