The Way to Go Joe Award was given this quarter to Student Health Services for going above and beyond during the pandemic to protect students and staff.

Joe MountieWay to Go Joe is a department-to-department award that is passed along quarterly and administered by the Mt. SAC VOICES Committee, which is focused on employee recognition across campus.

The Mt. SAC Risk Management staff received the Way to Go Joe Award last quarter in recognition of outstanding service. Risk Management now gets to pass the award along to another deserving department, and they chose Student Health Services, who run the two Student Health Centers on campus.

Student Health Services have been a backbone to the students during the pandemic, guiding and counseling them regarding COVID-19 issues, along with many other needs.  Their staff has devoted many hours, including weekends, to taking care of students and staff throughout the last 18 months.

Risk Management called Student Health Services, " a force to be reckoned with,  and we cannot thank them enough for the tremendous and compassionate job they have done for staff and students."
