Mountie Fresh Food Pantry

Student at Food PantryEvery current student in need at Mt. SAC is encouraged to pick up their free bag of groceries at the monthly Mountie Fresh Food Pantry, held the second Tuesday of each month of the Fall and Spring terms. The next Pantry will be November 12 in two sessions (while supplies last): 11am-1pm and 4pm-6pm.

Mountie Fresh Food PantryStudents will bring their Student ID to Building 67A (next to the Pedestrian Bridge over Bonita Ave.) to receive their free bag of non-perishable food items and paper products (when available).

A recent survey showed 46% of Mt. SAC students having some form of food insecurity (not having enough food to eat and/or having to forgo food for another expense such as books or housing).   

The Pantry is a partnership with Sowing Seeds for Life foodbank. It was first pilot tested in May 2018. In order to provide more complete assistance to those lacking the financial resources. In addition, staff will be on hand to help students sign up for LA County CalFresh, which can provide up to $192 a month in nutritious food items.

Pantry is held  outside Bldgs. 66 & 67A
