Engineering Innovation ended its five-week summer program for high school juniors and seniors, presenting students with certificates, college credit and taking part in the nationwide Spaghetti Bridge Breaking Ceremony. The course puts engineering concepts to the test as students apply their knowledge of math and science in hands-on laboratories. Engineering Innoivation students work on project

The summer course is administered by Johns Hopkins University (JHU) – Whiting School of Engineering’s Center for Educational Outreach. In fact, the course is a JHU freshman engineering course and earning an A or B in the program earns the students JHU college credit to apply at colleges/universities across the country.

Mt. SAC signed a memorandum of understanding with JHU to establish the course. The goal is to get first-generation and underrepresented students interested in the field of engineering.
