Men of Color Action Network

At MOCAN, we inspire and motivate students education as a pathway to lifelong success by aspiring towards their academic/educational goals. We do this through collaborative study halls, subject based help, career exploration trips, and much more.

 MMI transition to MOCAN

Our work began by listening to the voices and experiences of our students. Through data, research, and student stories, we recognized that Men of Color often face unique barriers that impact their educational success. This inspired the creation of the Minority Male Initiative (MMI), focused on building connections, increasing support, and creating opportunities for students to thrive.

Through collaboration with students, faculty, staff, and administrators, MMI worked to address inequities in student success and strengthen the campus community.

In 2025, MMI officially transitioned into the Men of Color Action Network (MOCAN) to help expand our impact and connect other MOCAN charters on other college campuses. Through MOCAN, we continue to build community, share resources, and create opportunities that empower students to achieve their academic, personal, and professional goals.
