Bio:
I am originally from Guanajuato, Mexico and the first one in my family to pursue higher education.  I obtained my Bachelor's in Sociology/ Social Work Option and minor in Criminal Justice from Cal Poly Pomona and my Master of Social Work (MSW) from Cal State Long Beach. I have been married for the past 16 years and have two boys, 5 and 8 years old. I love working with students and I’m passionate about guiding and helping students succeed. I am very excited to participate in the Mountie Mentor Meetings and look forward to meeting you! 

Why do you like participating in the Mountie Mentor Program?
I really enjoy connecting with students and learning ways I can continue to support students. I believe we bring unique experiences to the table and can learn from each other.

Advice for students:
Be kind and patient with yourself, success is a journey and life sometimes throws curves at us.  See your successes and failures as opportunity for growth and use your campus resources.  Reach out... we are here to help!
