Dr. Andi Fejeran Sims, hagan Guahån, taotao Piti, taotao Clan Caribou, serves as our Director, Student Life and primary advisor to Associated Students here at Mt. San Antonio College where she weaves her passion for student engagement, leadership development, advocacy, and cultural authenticity into the creation of student learning experiences. As an Indigenous Pacific womxn leader, Andi navigates through life honoring the intersections of her many roles and responsibilities. She is an educator with a grounded commitment to building collaborative relationships, investing in the development of others, and enhancing her communities.Why do you like participating in the Mountie Mentor Program?
I truly believe in the power of community, sharing energy, encouraging the hearts of those that attend, and helping to strengthen the spirits of others, mentors and mentees alike.
Advice for students:
1. Know that your voice matters, you matter.
2. You are your ancestors' wildest dreams so remember that your cultural heritage cultivates who you are, who you were meant to be.
3. The relationships you build and nurture will inspire wisdom and give you strength.
