Professor Golden

Professor Golden received her MA in Geography from Cal State Los Angeles and her BA in Geography from Humboldt State University.  She has twenty years experience working with GIS and a strong interest in applying mapping technologies to study ecosystem processes.  In 1999 she joined a multidisciplinary project, funded by the National Science Foundation, which focused on understanding the affects of disturbance regimes on chaparral vegetation in the Santa Monica Mountains.  Her continued interest in the Santa Monica Mountains led to employment with the National Park Service as a GIS technician.  She joined Duvivier Architects (Links to an external site.) in January of 2001 and completed work on the Green Map of Santa Monica (Links to an external site.).  She volunteers to use her GIS skills for non-profit organizations such as the Arroyos & Foothills Conservancy (Links to an external site.).  Professor Golden has led study abroad programs to Sydney and London.   As a teacher, she is committed to guiding students to an understanding of humanity’s place as part of the natural complex.
