What motivated you to go to college? My father, he never got the opportunity for higher education and he always supported me pursing my career goals

Describe your college experience as first-generation. It was a culture shock. Everything I experienced was on my own, no one in my family had those experiences yet.

What unique challenges did you face? I think my challenges were that I didn't make use of all the programs that were available to me, I wasn't aware of where to even bring. The biggest challenge was not having someone able to help me with my homework anymore.

How did you overcome those challenges? I sought out tutoring centers, clubs, organizations and really immersed myself in the college

What did you advise other first-generation students? ASK FOR HELP! It's scary, but you should never be ashamed to need help!
