1. NAIS 1 - Introduction to Native American Studies

Lecture: 3 hours per week
An introductory survey to the interdisciplinary analysis of the historical, socio-political,
economic, educational, and cultural experiences, conditions, and influence related
to Native Americans in the United States. The course examines key topics such: Colonialism,
settler colonialism, domination, indigeneity, sovereignty, acculturation, de-culturalization,
hegemony, land, self-determination, resistance, social movements, decolonization,
and the intersection of racial, ethnic, gender, sexual identities.
