Not to register for ESL classes. You need a Student ID card in order to use the Language
Learning Center, ESL Library, ESL Computer Lab, and other on-campus resources. Visit
the Sac Book Rac for hours available to get your Mt. SAC ID card.
Yes. You need to take the ESL Placement Test so we can match your English level to
our program's level of classes. You may contact ESL Registration for more information or you may go to the ESL website: How to Take ESL Classes.
Accessing your Mt. SAC email is important. This is how ESL Registration will be notifying
you that you have been registered for a class. Watch this instructional video.
When classes are full, students are placed on a waiting list. Students are then contacted
as spaces become available. You may contact ESL Registration for more information or status.
The average waiting time to get into filled classes depends on the number of students
regularly attending classes and the length of the waiting list. You may contact ESL Registration for more information.

Currently, all ESL Classes being offered will be done online using a computer. You
will need to access CANVAS. Watch the step-by-step video to help you access and use
Canvas.
The ESL department has classes available that are not level classes, which are part
of the VESL: Career Paths Program. If credit classes are desired, students may enroll in the credit American Language
classes, or credit English classes. Make an appointment with an ESL Counselor for your options.
The School of Continuing Education offers noncredit courses and does not offer I-20s.
