Career Outlook CIS Professional Certificate in Network Security

The CIS Professional in Network Security program is designed to prepare students for a career in the computer network security industry. The certificate offers a balanced set of classes that prepare students to design, implement, manage and secure the heterogeneous corporate network. The security management courses emphasize firewall security appliances, network protocol analysis, Linux network, Snort intrusion detection, intrusion prevention, and vulnerability management. Students will acquire the skills to utilize network protocol analyzers, to troubleshoot network problems, deploy intrusion prevention systems, configure firewall security appliances and Virtual Private Network (VPN), and assess network vulnerabilities and implement countermeasures. Individual courses will help students prepare for industry certification exams such as Certify Ethical Hacker (CEH), Cisco Firewall Specialist, and Cisco IPS Specialist. Opportunities available upon completion of the certificate program include Network Security Analyst, Junior Network Security Engineer, Network Vulnerability Management, and Network Security Architect.
