Wildlife Sanctuary for Kids

The Food Chain

Each of these living things are a piece of a chain. We call this a food chain. The grass gets energy from the sun, the mouse eats the grass, the snake eats the mouse and the hawk eats the snake.

Every living thing is a part of the food chain - even you.

If a piece of the food chain is broken, everything in the chain dies.
