Mt. SAC is aware of a fire in La Verne approximately one mile from Brackett Field. There is no impact on the college’s Brackett Field operations at this time. We are monitoring the situation with faculty and staff at the location, as well as air quality for the Mt. SAC campus. We will provide updates as needed.

PROFESSIONAL PROFILEAfter graduating from veterinary school at Iowa State University, Gary secured an internship and residency in small animal surgery at a private practice specialty hospital. Since then, his interests in medicine have changed to emergency medicine and critical care with an emphasis on emergency surgery. During his residency, he began to enjoy working with interns, which is what lead him to become a Mt. SAC professor in 1999. His goal is to educate Veterinary Technicians to pass their state board licensing exam, and to give them the practical and technical skills needed to succeed in practice. For this reason, he still practices in a referral and specialty hospital, which enables him to bring modern and advanced medical procedures to Mt. SAC students.
