Who May Enroll?
- Anyone over the age of 18.
- The College Starter Program is open to high school
juniors and seniors (11th and 12th grades) who would
benefit from taking advanced scholastic or vocational
coursework at Mt. SAC. Click
here for more information.
7 EASY ENROLLMENT STEPS
- Apply:
- Complete a Mt. SAC Application
for Admission online (click
here).
- Submit official transcripts from all accredited
high schools, colleges and trade schools attended.
Note: All new and returning students must complete
the online application. Returning students must also re-apply
if they have not enrolled for at least one year. For international students, click here for application.
- Claim Your Account: All
students must activate and claim their new Mt. SAC online accounts (click
here for instructions) to register for classes. After you apply, you will receive
a confirmation e-mail message with account activation instructions and
a username to get you started.
- Get
Assessed: Schedule and take your course placement tests at the Assessment
Center.
Call (909) 274-4265 to make an appointment. Many classes have basic
skill prerequisites that must be assessed prior to registration. You must complete
your assessment after your application for admission has been processed and before
your orientation and registration date.
- Attend Orientation: Attend an orientation
session. Both new students and first-time transfer students from other colleges
must attend orientation before registering for classes unless otherwise exempted.
To schedule an appointment, call ext. 4380.
- Get Counseling: Our trained counselors
can help you:
- Select a major and choose a career
- Develop an educational plan that supports your major
- Choose a university or college
for transfer
- Address any personal problems that impact your college success.
Call the
Counseling Center at ext. 4380.
- Register Online: Go to my.mtsac.edu. (Remember, before
you can proceed, you must have already claimed your online student account.)
Once logged in, you can view your assigned registration appointment date and
time.
Note: Students must print out a copy of their registration
appointment as proof of their priority registration date. Students will not be
allowed to register before their assigned date and time!
In preparation for registration,
we suggest that you:
- Prepare a tentative class schedule using the Schedule
Planning Worksheet provided in the online addendum of the current Schedule of Classes.
- Check for course prerequisites and
corequisites, making sure you have satisfied the requirements.
If you need access
to a computer or help registering online, please visit the Student Services Center
(9B).
- Pay Your Fees: All fees are due upon
registration. Students who remain enrolled after the course refund deadline remain
financially responsible for payment of fees even if they drop the class or are
dropped by their instructor. The Bursar’s Office accepts cash, credit cards,
money orders, personal checks, business checks, Rehab vouchers and cashier’s
checks. Payments may be made online, by mail, in person or through drop box.
See Paying for College for complete listing of fees and financial aid information.
