To
qualify for the Board of Governors Fee Waiver (BOGW) you must: Be a
California resident*; and meet the annual eligibility criteria for one
of the BOGW methods below:
Method “A”
You, or your parents (if considered dependent), must be currently
receiving benefits from CalWORKs, Temporary Assistance for Needy
Families (TANF), Supplemental Security Income (SSI)/SSP, or General
Relief. Bring verification of your benefits, dated within the last 60
days, to the Financial Aid Office.
Method “B”
You, or your parents (if dependent), must meet income standards in accordance with household size.
Method “C”
A student has applied for other state/federal aid and has demonstrated
financial need by completing the 2008-2009 Free Application for Federal
Student Aid (FAFSA) form.
The
BOGW waives your enrollment fee and reduces the health fee and parking.
You are responsible for paying these and any additional fees.
Assistance granted under this fee waiver DOES NOT need to be paid back.
You
may apply for the BOGW at any time during the academic year, but no
later than June 15. The application period begins with the Summer
session and you must reapply each year.
There is no minimum or maximum unit requirement for you to apply for the fee waiver.
You may apply whether enrolled in 1 unit or 18 units.

*Note:
Students who are exempt from paying nonresident tuition under Education
Code Section 68130.5 (AB540) are not current California residents.
