FALL VESL CAREER PATHS
The VESL Career Paths Program is a one-semester program designed to prepare Level 5 and 6 students who are looking
to get a college degree, advance within their current profession, enter the workforce,
or get a better job. The program consists of 4 classes: VESL Speaking, VESL Writing,
Career & Life Planning, and Office Management Skills.

ESU Healthcare Pathways
Levels 1-6 The ESU Healthcare Pathways courses are designed for ESL students who are interested
in taking health career courses in the future to improve their English skills. The
courses focus on introducing ESL students to the three health career fields: Medical Assistant, Pharmacy Technician, and Certified Nursing
Assistant (CNA). Session 1 — ESU Medical Assistant (Weeks 1-5) Session 2 — ESU Pharmacy Technician (Weeks 6-10) Session 3 — ESU CNA Certified Nursing Assistant (Weeks 11-15)

Microcomputer Applications
Levels 4-6, VESL This is a hands-on advanced computer skills course that covers a variety of applications, including Word, Excel,
and PowerPoint. It also introduces fundamental topics such as hardware configurations,
software evaluation, and comparative analysis of documentation. Prior computer knowledge is required.

English for Special Uses (ESU): Accounting & Quickbooks
Levels 5-6, VESL Covers vocabulary and theory, basic accounting concepts, principles, transactions
and operations, and problem solving techniques. QuickBooks is an accounting software
program used to manage either business or personal finances. This is an ESL course meant to prepare students to take credit or noncredit accounting
classes.

English for Special Uses (ESU): Payroll and Tax Accounting & Excel for Business
Levels 5-6, VESL Covers vocabulary, theory, basic payroll and tax accounting concepts, principles,
transactions, and operations. Excel for Business: Learn how to process sales taxes,
refunds, discounts, and credits using Excel. This is an ESL course meant to prepare students to take credit or noncredit accounting
classes.
