About Us

Short Term Vocational Education provides students with noncredit programs to gain new skills and embark on new career paths. Featuring both certificate programs that mirror credit programs in the College and fee-based certificate programs, students have the opportunity to enroll in a broad variety of programs that interest them.

The School of Continuing Education offers courses and certificates in vocational areas including health careers, electronics, business, welding, and other high job growth careers. Some of these certificates, such as Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and Electronics Systems Technology (EST), are short-term by design to provide you with the skills and knowledge necessary to work in a particular field.

Additionally, many credit vocational classes offer a limited number of seats available to Continuing Education students for noncredit. Students may enroll in these classes in accordance with procedures outlined in the School of Continuing Education class schedule. Students will not receive college credit.

Accreditation

Mt. San Antonio College School of Continuing Education (SCE) holds a six-year status of accreditation as an adult school by the Accrediting Commission for Schools (ACS). As a division of Mt. San Antonio College, Continuing Education is also accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC). Both ACS and ACCJC are part of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), an institutional accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).

School of Continuing Education's initial ACS WASC application was completed in 2009.  In the spring of 2012, SCE completed a self-study, and received a visit from a team of peers from different adult schools within the ACS WASC system.
