Associated Students Senate
Officers
The Senate consists of 16 Senators two (2) of which serve as Senate Chairs. Each Senate seat has an assigned job description in addition to a core of general responsibilities. Each Senator will remain in office for two semesters.

Responsibilities of the Senate
- Serving as a voice and advocate for student issues
- Enacting legislation which impacts student concerns
- The allocation of revenue entrusted to the Associated Students
- The monitoring of A.S. funded accounts,
- Sponsoring events and programs designed to enrich and entertain a diverse student population
General Requirements
- Must be available every Tuesday and Thursday 3:00pm-5:00pm
- Must be available Fridays 9:00am-10:00am (for those serving on Activities Committee)
- Have completed one (1) semester at Mt. SAC and 6 graded units with a 2.5 cumulative GPA
- Must be enrolled in at least 5 units and maintain a 2.0 semester GPA
- Pay the Student Activities Fee of $11.00 each semester
- Attend 4 Senate meetings prior to the interview process
- Perform 4 hours of A.S. related volunteer work prior to interview date
- Have no discipline record on file with the college
- Complete a Senate application
