Important Program Information
-Please Read-How the Class Works
-
-
- Classes are online, free, and available 24/7
- You do not need any textbooks or additional materials
- You may complete coursework at any time of day
- You can do your work from anywhere, as long as you have reliable internet
- Coursework must be completed in order
- You can take your final whenever you finish the coursework
- Weekly instructor check‑ins are required
- Instructors are available Monday–Thursday, 4:00–8:00pm
-

Required Weekly Instructor Check‑Ins
Weekly check‑ins allow students to:
-
-
- Ask questions
- Review progress
- Receive tutoring or support
-
Check‑ins may be brief or longer depending on your needs. If you must miss a check‑in, contact your instructor in advance. In most cases, you will be allowed to complete two check‑ins during another week.
Persistence & Getting Support (Please Read)
HSR classes are designed to be flexible, but they do require steady progress. It is normal for coursework to feel challenging at times; especially if you are balancing school, work, or other responsibilities.
If something feels hard or confusing:
-
-
- Try the assignment anyway, even if you’re not sure you’re doing it perfectly
- Check in with your instructor early via Canvas messages or Zoom - you can go into the instructor's Zoom as often as needed
- Ask questions as soon as you notice an issue, rather than waiting
-
Getting support early makes it much easier to stay on track. Waiting until the end of the course often limits how much help instructors can provide.
Important: Instructors want students to succeed, but they can only help if they know there is a problem.
Timelines & Completion Requirements
-
-
- Session runs from June 15th at 4pm through July 23rd at 8pm
- All coursework must be submitted by 8pm on July 23rd
- Work submitted after this time cannot be graded
- Students are responsible for verifying that all assignments are submitted and graded before the course closes
- Any work that is submitted during the last week of class may not be graded before the class closes
- Instructors are not available after 8pm on July 23rd to resolve grading issues
-
We encourage students to finish their work early if they want feedback.
