My Teaching Philosophy
Engagement, relevance, and enthusiasm best describe my teaching philosophy.
My teaching philosophy is a dynamic interaction between pedagogy and personality.
My lectures are always interactive, I engage my students in the learning process.
I try to involve students in the course and in the material by using diverse teaching
methods, and by encouraging their use of a variety of cognitive skills.
I ask questions and let the student participate answering them. I believe that W.B.
Yeats captured the exhilaration of teaching when he wrote: “Education is not the filling
of a pail, but the lighting of a fire.”
I believe that teachers who demonstrate curiosity and passion about a subject area
motivate students to learn.
An important characteristic of effective teaching at the college level is the use
of research results to enhance the student learning experience.
The relationship between instructors and students is a key to good teaching.
Preparation and enthusiasm are cornerstones of effective teaching. Successful teachers
are committed and dedicated to improve themselves and their students. In summary,
teaching is my passion and I truly care about my students and their success.
