Dawn Waters, RVT

Dawn Waters grew up in a suburb of Chicago, Illinois and moved to California in 1987. After taking just one class at Mt. San Antonio College she quit her job as an Office Manager/Technician for a veterinary hospital and went back to school full time at Mt. SAC.  Dawn became very involved at Mt. SAC and showed on the Livestock Show Team.  Also, she was very involved at the Horse Unit and helped with the horse breeding program.

After receiving her A.S. degree at Mt. SAC she continued her education at Cal Poly, Pomona. Dawn became an Agricultural Ambassador at Cal Poly and was responsible for recruiting students to the Agriculture program.  She graduated in 1998 with a degree in Animal Science.

After graduating from Cal Poly and passing her California Boards, Dawn came back to work at Mt. SAC as their Registered Veterinary Technician and Adjunct Professor. She fell in love with teaching and decided to get her High School Teaching Credential so she could start teaching full time.  She has taught Biology, Veterinary Science, Natural Science, Peer Counseling and Link Crew at both Chino Hills High School and Santiago High School.  She loved what she did, but her heart was always at Mt. SAC.

Dawn returned to Mt. SAC to teach animal science and Registered Veterinary Technology courses full time. Dawn also completed her A.S. degree in Registered Veterinary Technology and is now the Program Director for the program.
