Excused Withdrawals (EW) Continue in the Fall

This term, Mt. SAC will continue to allow students to drop with an “EW”—Excused Withdrawal.  This is an acceptable mark and does not count against the student’s GPA, academic standing or ability to repeat the course.

Additionally, courses dropped due to COVID-19 emergency will not be counted in the SAP completion percentage calculation for future financial aid disbursements.  Courses dropped due to COVID-19 are assigned the “FE” or “GW” status codes on your registration records.

Mt. SAC has a robust online program with many services available to assist students with online learning.  While we hope that you consider continuing your classes and studies, we understand there may be circumstances related to COVID-19 that may not allow you to continue this fall term.

Remember, the Financial Aid Office is open! You can connect with us by phone, email or Instagram. During the Summer term we will be open Monday through Friday, 8am to 4:30pm at (909) 274-4450. You can also reach us by email at or during our Financial Aid Fridays drop-in Zoom sessions.
