important IMPORTANT: You MUST submit a non-credit application (Step 1) BEFORE coming to campus. If your application is not submitted when you come to campus, you may have to come back another day to complete orientation and placement testing.

Bring your orientation assessment email invitation when you come for orientation and placement testing on the Mt. SAC campus.  The email lists testing days and times.

  • If you are a returning student and have not taken any ESL classes or the ESL placement test for more than two years, you will need to retake the placement test.

Step 4: Register for Classes

  •  After completing the placement test, you will register for classes.  If classes are full, you will be placed on the waiting list.  Classes are free.
