To reduce the community transmission rates of the coronavirus, Cerritos College is implementing strategies to minimize the physical presence of students on campus. Therefore, the pitch competition will be hosted virtually.
What is a Pitch?
Do you have an awesome business idea? A business pitch is a presentation that entrepreneurs use to deliver their business ideas to potential investors. It often includes a deck of slides that serve as a presentation aid and background, and a verbal discussion that begins as a planned talk and ends with questions and answers.
The Tri-College Student Pitch Competition
The Tri-College Student Pitch Competition is open to all students currently enrolled at Mt. SAC, Cerritos College, and Norco College. It provides students with the opportunity to practice presenting a business idea in front of established entrepreneurs, business experts, professionals, and community leaders.
All finalists will receive a participation certificate. The first place winner receives a cash prize of $1000, second place receives $500, and third place receives $250. If the winners are members of a team, the prize will be split evenly among all team members.
Pitch Application Guidelines
The Zoom pitch competition will be recorded. All contestants and attendees will need to sign a terms and conditions agreement. Any information related to the business ideas should be kept confidential until a project is publicly and fully released.
If disability accommodations (e.g. communications access, alternate formats) are needed to participate fully in this event, please contact Donna Sheibe at AccommodationsRequest@Cerritos.edu within seven (7) school days in advance.
