Wildlife Care - Ambassador Animals


Wild Wonders is looking for a motivated Wildlife Caregiver with a strong work ethic and dedication. We are looking for an effective communicator and self-starter. This is a demanding position as we are a small private busy facility comprised almost exclusively of ambassador animals.

What we are looking for:

  • Adhere to the highest standards of quality care
  • Create lasting bonds with amazing animals in our mainly full contact facility
  • Have excellent communication skills to present engaging programs to large and small groups, all ages, onsite and off-site
  • Promote our mission and our role with our global conservation partners
  • Have a knowledge of Zoonoses and prevention
  • Have a working knowledge of positive reinforcement and choice-based training

Duties

  • All aspects of husbandry for a diverse group of species
  • Maintenance of habitats
  • Creating enrichment for each animal
  • Maintaining of records and keeping track of inventory

Full time and part time positions are available; salary commensurate with experience

Job Requirements

  • 18+ years old
  • Able to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to work in challenging weather conditions, such as heat
  • For the safety of our animals, candidates must be fully vaccinated against COVID, and able to wear a mask for their shift
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Bonus Experience

  • Previous animal care experience
  • Coursework in Zoology, vet tech, equine science
  • Previous animal training experience
