Windows operating system installation and performance tweaking, including hardware and software issues, Windows system files, and Windows security.
(54 hours lecture  Degree applicable, CSU)
Advisory Prerequisite:   CISB 11 - Computer Information Systems
                                         or ( CISB 15 - Microcomputer Applications or COMP 12 )

  1. Design and install Windows based on appropriate techniques.
  2. Organize files and directories.
  3. Analyze and suggest fixes for Windows operating environment problems.
  4. Implement Windows environment security based on chosen criteria.
  5. Evaluate different networking interface types for Windows.

Course Level Student Learning Outcomes:


Students completing CISN 21 - Windows Operating System will be able to:
  1. properly configure Microsoft's operating system to stay secure while interacting with internetworks.
  2. effectively use the printer configuration utility to install and test a printer device.
