CISD 21 - Database Management
                - Microsoft SQL Server
                  Lecture  (3.0 units)
Structured query language (SQL) and Transact-SQL for Microsoft SQL Server.
Topics include creating database objects, retrieving and updating data, writing scripts, developing stored procedures and functions, developing triggers, and creating cursors.

Student must be enrolled in CISD 21L , a concurrent lab co-requisite.
 
(54 hours lecture;  Degree applicable)
Co-rerequisite:   CISD 21L - Database Management - Microsoft SQL Server Lab
Advisory Prerequisite:   CISB 11 - Computer Information Systems
                                         or  CISB 15 - Microcomputer Applications

Course Measurable Objectives:

  1. Determine how to obtain data from single and multiple tables
  2. Insert, update and delete data from database
  3. Design database tables and views
  4. Design subqueries
  5. Design Microsoft SQL Server database.
  6. Design cursors, triggers, stored procedures and functions

Course Level Student Learning Outcomes:


Students completing CISD 21 - Database Management - Microsoft SQL Server will be able to:
  1. update database data using the SQL Server Data Manipulation Language commands.
  2. create a program using scripts and stored procedures.
