STUDENT HEALTH CENTER

Who We Are

The Health Center has over 20 qualified and experienced health professionals to assist you with your health needs while you are attending classes at Mt. SAC. These include:
• Physicians – The Health Center physicians are either general practitioners or emergency room physicians. Most of them work at other facilities in our community including local hospitals and health centers at other colleges and universities. They are all very experienced and love to work with students.
• Psychologists – Clinical psychologists are available for your personal counseling needs. The psychologists also offer workshops and support groups which address issues such as anger management, stress, grieving, sexual assault, relationship issues, gender issues, etc.
• Licensed Clinical Social Workers – These social workers have special credentials that qualify them to provide personal counseling. They also offer workshops and support groups and work together with the psychologists.
• Registered Nurses – Registered nurses are on duty at all times when the Health Center is open. These nurses are very experienced in managing health and counseling needs. They spend a lot of time providing health education, answering your questions, finding resources and referrals, assisting when you need immediate care, etc.
• Clerical Support Staff – The clerical support staff manage all of the appointments, telephone requests, and medical records. They are the “gatekeepers” and work very hard to keep our schedules on time. These individuals are very resourceful in helping you find the right answer, even when it does not pertain to Health Services.Who We Are
