Scholarships

The 2008-2009 Mt. SAC Scholarship Program application period is currently closed. All applicants for the current competition year will be notified of their status via U.S. postal mail, whether selected or not, in early May 2008. Application materials for the 2009-2010 scholarship competition will be available in late 2008. In addition to administering the Mt. SAC Scholarship Program, the Scholarship Program Office also assists students with:

  • Researching Scholarship Opportunities
  • Scholarship Application Assistance
  • Scholarship Personal Essay Advisement
  • Scholarship Workshops/Presentations

COCA-COLA TWO-YEAR COLLEGES SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

The COCA-COLA TWO-YEAR COLLEGES SCHOLARSHIP awards 350 one-time $1,000 scholarships to students attending two-year, degree granting institutions within the U.S. The scholarship rewards leadership and excellence as demonstrated through academics, community service and/or employment.

MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Must apply for campus nomination consideration by 5/19/08
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
  • Must have demonstrated academic success (with a min. GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale)
  • Must be planning to enroll in at least two courses during the fall 2008 term at a two-year, degree granting institution
  • Must be actively engaged in volunteer service or employed at least part-time

ASSOCIATED STUDENTS BOOK SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

Funded by the Associated Students, the AS Book Scholarship offers up to $250 for assistance with books. To be eligible, you must:

  • Be enrolled in a minimum of 6 units
  • Have no more than 60 units completed
  • Have at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA or be a first time college student
  • Be clear of all financial obligations to Mt. SAC
  • Have a financial aid application on file at Mt. SAC and be determined to have unmet need
  • Have paid the Student Activities Fee for the current semester

Awards will be given to qualified students on a first-come first-serve basis until all funds are exhausted. Priority will be given to students ineligible for a Pell Grant. Funding is available for only the fall and spring semesters. Applications are usually available one-month prior to the beginning of each respective semester. Visit the Mt.
