arrow What courses should I take my first semester?
Only the courses you want to take. There are no specific courses which must be completed your 1st semester. It is recommended, NOT required, that you concentrate on your English/Math early but if you can't get into either class, they can wait until the next semester.
arrowWhat do I take first, my Major or my General Education classes?
Major and General Education courses are designed to be taken concurrently, or at the same time. Our suggestion is to take whatever is available, then work with a counselor to help put things in perspective for the following semester.
arrowHow many units should I take?
That's up to you! Twelve (12) units is full-time enrollment, but if you register for less, that's OK too. The college set a limit of 18 units (Fall/Spring) for all students and 7 units for Winter and Summer sessions.  Students who wish to take more must petition through a Counselor to do so.
arrowWhen do I pay fees?
Within Five (5) business days after enrolling in a course.
arrowWhat do I do if the class I want is closed?
Attend the first class and ask the professor for an ADD card. The card will be processed in Admissions. Tip: Before the class starts, check the touchtone registration system periodically for openings, students sometimes drop.   You may get on a waiting list through the registration system approximately one week before classes start.
arrowHow long will it take to earn an Associate Degree?
The length of time it may take you to receive a degree depends on your chosen area of study and the number of units taken each semester. Some students graduate in fours semesters, others several years.
arrowCan I transfer to a four year college without an Associate Degree?
Yes. However, by taking courses required for transfer, you will more than likely meet the requirements for an Associate Degree as well. Check with a counselor in the Counseling Department.
arrowWhat if I still have questions?
See a Counselor. You can make an appointment by calling (909) 594-5611 x 4380 or try walking into the Counseling Counter for assistance.
