VOC WL91Automotive Welding, Cutting and Modification^ Students will be able to perform the required practical projects used in GMAW welding and cutting. ^ Students will demonstrate safe usage of welding equipment used in the automotive industry
VOC EST 54Cabling and Wiring Standards^ Students will complete a working radio-frequency (RF) signal-distribution network using coaxial cable. ^ Students will demonstrate a working electronic telephone system installation.
VOC EST 50Electrical Fundamentals for Cable Installations^ In a laboratory setting, students will demonstrate the ability to use multimeters and oscilloscope to analyze a circuit provided by the instructor. ^ Students completing the eighth week of EST50 will demonstrate the ability to interpret the general-purpose and precision resistor color codes.
VOC EST 62Electronic Troubleshooting I^ EST 62 students will demonstrate the ability to adjust (align) a video display in accordance with manufacturer specifications. ^ Students completing EST 62 will be able to troubleshoot an audio product or television receiver to component level. ^ Students will be able to use test equipment to measure a waveform. ^ Students will exhibit the ability to read and identify components in a schematic wiring diagram.
VOC EST 64Electronic Troubleshooting II^ Students completing EST 64 will be able to demonstrate proper techniques for replacement of circuit boards in digital video displays ^ Students completing EST 64 will be able to troubleshoot a faulty circuit in a video system to component level. ^ Students will be able to perform research to match comparable electronic components to replace faulty components. ^ Students will be able to use schematics and test equipment to troubleshoot a basic electronic appliance or device.
VOC EST 52Fabrication Techniques for Cable Installations^ Students will be able to identify the proper tools and techniques for repairing a hole made in wallboard during the installation of a low-voltage wiring project. ^ Students will demonstrate the ability to make parallel offset bends in 1/2-inch electrical metallic tubing (EMT).
VOC EST 56Home Electronic Systems^ Students will demonstrate the ability to install and program a home-security system. ^ Students will design a layout and set up speakers for a home-theater system. ^ Students will develop a plan to automate the home design they developed for their home security portfolio project.
