Students who are single
parents and students who are academically and financially
disadvantaged are encouraged to take advantage of the
services provided by Mt. SAC’s Extended Opportunity
Programs and Services (EOPS) and Cooperative Agencies
Resources for Education (CARE) program. Counseling, educational
planning, peer advising, tutoring, book services and priority
registration are major services offered to eligible students.
The CARE program recruits
and assists single parents who are heads of households
with children under 14 years old and a CALWORKS recipient
attending community college. CARE students also receive
additional support through counseling, tutoring, as well
as assistance with books and supplies, meal tickets and
grants.
