6 EASY ENROLLMENT STEPS

1. Apply: Complete a Mt. SAC Application for Admission (available online and in the Schedule of Classes). Send or bring it to the Admissions & Records Office. You must submit official transcripts fro all accredited, high schools, colleges and trade schools attended. A permit to register will be mailed to you. It will tell you your assigned registration date and time.

2. Get Assessed: Schedule and take your course placement tests at the Assessment Center on campus. Call (909) 594-5611, ext. 4265. Most classes have basic skill prerequisites that must be assessed prior to registration. You must complete your assessment after your application for admission has been processed and before your orientation and registration date.

3. Attend Orientation: Attend an orientation session. Both new students and first-time transfer students from other colleges must attend orientation before registering for classes unless otherwise exempted. To schedule an appointment, call ext. 5913.

4. Get Counseled and Advised: Our trained counselors can help you if you:

  • Don’t have a major or are undecided about a career choice
  • Need help with vocational/career plans
  • Need to choose a university or college for transfer
  • Have personal problems that impact your college success

Call the Counseling Center at ext. 4380.

Our advisors can help you if you:

  • Need information on course selection
  • Need to identify the classes you need for an Associate degree or certificate
  • Need help with your education plan
  • Need general information about the College

Call the Advising Center at ext. 4293.

5. Register: You can register online or by phone: (909) 595-6722. Before you do, we suggest that you:

  • Prepare a tentative class schedule using your Schedule Planning Worksheet provided in your printed Schedule of Classes.
  • Check for course prerequisites and corequisites, making sure you have satisfied the requirements.
  • Register for required corequisites (courses that must be taken during the same term as the courses originally chosen)

6. Pay Your Fees: If you register by telephone or in person, fees must be paid within seven business days from the day you registered. You may make your payment by credit card through Telephone Registration, by mail, by drop box, online or in person.

See Paying for College for fees and payment information.
