The Mt. SAC Art Gallery will kick off its 2017-18 year with an exhibit of works by three Los Angeles artist, “Khôra,” which runs Sept. 21 through Dec. 7 at the Art Gallery. This exhibit is free and open to the public.

“Khôra,” an exhibition curated by Fatemeh Burnes, features works by Los Angeles-based artists John David O’Brien, Rebecca Ripple, and Coleen Sterritt. A philosophical term coined by Plato, Khôra is a kind of receptacle, space, or interval in which forms were originally held and, for this show, is the nexus these three artists will share for their individual uniqueness.

A special opening reception will be held Thursday, Sept. 21, 4 to 6 p.m., in the Art Gallery, building 1B. An artists reception will be held Sunday, Sept. 24, 4 to 7 p.m. Gallery hours are Tuesdays through Thursdays, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Tuesday nights, 5 to 7:30 p.m.

Special Saturday hours for this exhibit are from noon to 2 p.m. on Sept. 30, Oct. 21, Nov. 11, and Dec. 2.
