Mt. San Antonio College’s Michael Gregoryk has been elected Chair of the Los Angeles County First District Consolidated Oversight Board, which falls under County Supervisor Hilda Solis.

Decisions at the oversight boards can make a large impact on the areas they serve. Their actions can affect the amount and speed of future property tax restorations to special districts and local agencies across the district.

These newly established oversight boards take the place of the more than 400 redevelopment agency (RDA) oversight boards. Most California counties have one oversight board with the exception of Los Angeles County, which will have five.

“It’s an honor to serve on the oversight board,” said Gregoryk, who is Vice President of Administrative Services at Mt. SAC. “One of the ways Mt. San Antonio College serves its community is by staying involved with partner groups across the region. This oversight board has a lot of work to do, and I’m glad to help in any way that I can.”

Gregoryk was appointed to the board by the California Community College Chancellor’s Office in June. He was elected its Chair at a meeting on July 23 in Downtown Los Angeles. He has served as Vice President of Administrative Services at Mt. SAC since 2005.
