October is Emergency Preparedness Month

Mt. SAC will observe Emergency Preparedness Month in October with a host activities, training sessions, and drills.

 

The campus’ Emergency Preparedness Fair will be held Tuesday, Oct. 10, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., along the Mountie Café walkway. Several Mt. SAC offices will provide information and demonstrations at the fair along with community organizations, including the American Red Cross, the L.A. County Office of Emergency Management, and disaster supply companies.

 

A variety of training sessions will be offered throughout October. Sessions such as “Emergency Survival Skills,” “Disaster First Aid” and “Campus CERT” (certified emergency response team) training will be offered. The campus will also observe the Great ShakeOut Earthquake Drill with an emergency alert test on Oct. 19 at 10:19 a.m.
