Often, candidates have questions regarding legal issues that may prevent them from licensure or are in need of recertification and need information regarding the requirements for recertification. Disciplinary actions are contained within section 1798.200. Certification issues are addressed in Article 5 of the Health and Safety Code, paragraph 100080.
All EMT-Basic and Paramedic candidates now must pass the National Registry of EMTs exam to be certified (EMT-B) or licensed (Paramedic). For information regarding testing sites, fees and practice exams, please see the NREMT website.
