PowerPoint Game Templates
presented by Peggy Marcy (LLC) Come learn how to edit a variety of PowerPoint templates to create fun games for
reviewing material. Templates to be covered are Jeopardy, Hollywood Squares, Who Wants
to be a Millionaire, and Memory. Bring a USB drive in order to save the templates.
Bring a recent test or review sheet to speed up the editing process. Practice changing
at least two question slides for each template and learn how it can be played in class.
Participants must have basic knowledge and experience with Microsoft PowerPoint.

Makebeliefscomix: Creating Comic Strips as Student Activities
presented by Peggy Marcy (LLC)
Asking students to create online comic strips develops their 21st Century Skills of
creativity, media literacy, technology literacy, and language literacy. There are
several tools available, but this workshop will focus on a simple one from makebeliefscomix.com.
Participants will look at examples of how classes across the country use comic strips
as an educational activity, what some of the pedagogical benefits are, and generate
suggestions for using them in class. Participants will work on creating their own
comic strip during the workshop.

Flip Your Class Outside MoodleRooms
presented by Peggy Marcy (LLC) What is a "flipped classroom"? What are the advantages of flipping a class? Are there
any disadvantages? What tools are available to flip my class? This is an introductory
workshop that will explore what a flipped classroom is, consider what research says
regarding the advantages of flipped classes, encourage discussion of possible disadvantages
as well, and briefly outline various tech tools/sites available for enabling the flip.

Tools for Online Language Classes Outside MoodleRooms
presented by Peggy Marcy (LLC) Teaching the productive skills of speaking and writing are essential in language
classes. So how can it be done online? There are a growing number of free or inexpensive
websites and apps available for productive online language learning. This workshop
will explore and evaluate five for promoting speaking and five for working on writing.
Some will be familiar to participants, such as Voicethread, while others will be new,
such as Touchcast. Participants will be able to analyze the benefits of the sites/apps
presented and determine their potential in their class. BYOD (bring your own device,
specifically smartphone or tablet) in order to download and assess apps if desired.

Google Presentation: Cloud-based, Free and Collaborative
presented by Mark Osea (LLC) Google Presentation is a versatile cloud software with many features similar to Microsoft
PowerPoint. After creating a FREE Google account, you and your students can have access
to this online presentation software. In this workshop, participants will create a
Google Presentation complete with transitions, images, animations and YouTube video.
Then, participants will learn how to share the presentation privately, publicly or
with collaborators for editing. Also, learn how the commenting feature can assist
you with providing students feedback. Finally, explore ways to use this tool in the
classroom or other contexts.

Screencast-o-matic: The simple way to create tutorial videos
presented by Mark Osea (LLC) Sometimes a short video showing how to access MoodleRooms or other computer programs
can save repeating instructions 20 times. Or, ask students to create videos explaining
error corrections they made on their essay or any number of uses for capturing voice
narration while the user moves across the computer screen. Come find out how to use
a simple, free web-based software for recording movement and audio on screen.
