First of all, Welcome to the Language Learning Center.  If this is your first time in the Language Learning Center, or it has been a long time since you used the Language Learning Center, we would like to offer you a personal tour of the LLC and what it has to offer you as a professor and what it has to offer your students. The following are some simple tips to help you learn a bit more about the LLC.

Tip # 1

Every semester we automatically schedule all Level 1 foreign language classes and Levels 1-6 ESL classes for an orientation. If you teach another level and would like an orientation please call X4580 or X5010 to make an appointment for you class.

Tip # 2

Please call the LLC at X4580 if you are planning on sending your class to the LLC for an open lab / independent assignment.  We will then be able to serve your students better and know what the assignment is and when the due date is.

Tip # 3

We can discuss a variety of ways to use the Smart Lab with your class.  We can share the experiences and/or assignments other classes have used that you might find interesting for your class.

Tip # 4

Always send your students to the lab for specific purposes to ensure the best learning environment. Just requiring a number of seat hours may not result in the desired language acquisition.

Tip #5

We are always on the lookout for new technology that is fun for students to acquire language.  We offer LLC Tech Week for instructors to come and find out what is new.  You can see what we have offered in past LLC Tech Weeks and get handouts or PowerPoint’s by clicking on “Tech Week Information” tab on the Instructor link.

Tip #6

If you want help matching LLC materials to your course curriculum, please call us at ext. 4580 or 5010.
