Chemistry Programs

Get a State-of-the-Art Education!

The Mt. SAC Chemistry Department offers rigorous, technology-oriented curricula at all levels, enhanced by state-of-the-art lecture and laboratory facilities. Dedicated, innovative faculty regularly utilize modern analytical instrumentation, including Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR), Gas Chromatography (GC), Gas Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry (GCMS), Fourier-Transform Infrared  Spectroscopy (FTIR), and MeasureNet in many chemistry courses and research projects. 

Recently added courses and programs include:

  • CHEM 50H (General Chemistry I – Honors)
  • CHEM 60 (Quantitative Analysis)
  • CHEM 75 (Instrumental Analysis)

More Ways to Get Involved
Student opportunities for involvement include a Study/Tutorial Room, Chemistry Technology Center (CTC), Chemistry Club and APPLE Club (Association of Pre- Pharmacy Learners and Educators) meetings and activities, and the Mt. SAC STEM Scholars Program. Deadline to apply for Mt. SAC STEM Scholars Program is May 16, 2008.
