WHY ONLY MT. SAC STUDENTS & STAFF?

Each of the databases provided costs the library between $5,000 and $10,000+ per year.

This is your (Mt. San Antonio College community) money. You do not want us to provide free to someone else something you are paying for. We also sign an agreement, saying that we will provide access only to for whom we have paid to have access. To provide free access over the Internet would be violating that agreement and unethical.

We have created a way for you to identify yourself as a Mt. San Antonio College student or staff member. With this identification the computer will allow you to gain access to these subscription databases from anywhere. The more time and care we put into setting up the system, the easier we make this process for you. We have tried to make this process as easy as possible for you. If you are having problems accessing the databases from home, please email the Electronic Reference Librarian, Paul Kittle.

If you are new to online database research, we suggest coming into the library so that you have expert research librarians on hand to help you find what you need.

Please send an email, if you have any questions.

Thank you for your understanding!
