Tips and Tricks:
- Remember that while the library
may ot have an entire book on an artist, a movement, or a culture,
they may appear as chapters in books on larger topics. Choose keywords
that reflect larger topics to find these books. If searching for criticism on an
artist, remember to add and criticism to your search. Altavista is a good search engine to use if searching for a graphic (picture,
illustration, etc.) of a particular painting.
- When searching by name or painting
title in the periodical databases or on the Internet, remember to
enclose the name or title in quotation marks, eg. "frida kahlo".
