America: History and Life™ with Full Text covers the history and culture of the United States and Canada, from prehistory to the present, with selective indexing for over 1,700 journals from 1955 to present. It provides full-text coverage of more than 230 journals and nearly 100 books, as well as citations and links to book and media reviews. Strong English-language journal coverage is balanced by an international perspective on topics and events, including abstracts in English of articles published in more than 40 languages.

American History in Video

Provides the largest and richest collection of video available online for the study of American history, with 2,000 hours and more than 5,000 titles on completion. The collection allows students and researchers to analyze historical events, and the presentation of historical events over time, through commercial and governmental newsreels, archival footage, public affairs footage, and important documentaries. This release includes over 1260 titles, equaling approximately 420 hours.

AP Images

AP Images Multimedia Archive provides a sensory journey of photographs, audio sound bites, graphics and text spanning over 160 years of history. From simple keyword searching to more complex searches such as concept, color, and category, students may enhance research projects with over two million news photographs dating back to 1826 and as current as a few moments ago, tens of thousands of graphics, audio files dating from the 1920's, and news stories dating from 1997.

An online collection of streaming video, providing access to English-language documentaries offering a survey of human history from the earliest civilizations to the fall of the Berlin Wall and covering Africa and the Americas, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and Oceania. All videos are fully transcripted and can be trimmed down to clips to be used in presentations or instruction. Faculty can also create playlists.
