	• Have taught ESL, K-12, Bonita Unified School District • Have taught Study Skills/Study Techniques at Cal Poly Pomona & Mt. SAC • Have hired, trained, supervised, and evaluated English tutors at CPP • Have done academic advising for undeclared students, as well as declared students in the College of Education and Integrative Studies, the School of Hotel & Restaurant Management, and the College of Agriculture • Have facilitated numerous workshops: Graduation Writing (GWT), time management, motivation, learning styles, cooperative learning, concentration, note taking, etc.

Department Philosophy

As research-based developmental educators, we recognize and value that all learners have their own pathways as well as obstacles to learning. Although we believe students need to assume responsibility for their own learning, we also believe that students learn best in a positive learning environment that includes social interaction. We provide scaffolding through the support structures — the integration of technology, the access to useful resources and professional educators — that help students develop cognitive, metacognitive, and affective strategies.
