LERN 48 - Basic Math Skills Review

(3 Units) Pre-Collegiate
(May be taken three times for credit.)
(May be taken for Credit/No Credit only.)

Essential math fundamentals: mulitplication tables, adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing whole numbers and fractions. Emphasis on math learning strategies such as organization and math anxiety. Successfuly completers of this course are eligible for LERN 49. Students who repeat this course will improve skills through further instruction and practice.

Improves proficiency of computational skills and applications in five major areas:
• whole numbers
• fractions
• decimals
• proportions
• percentages
The above skills are then applied to problem solving strategies. Students who repeat this course will improve skills by further instruction and practice.

Department Philosophy
